Reluctant road-tripping detective Charlie Cale is back for more Poker Face, and not only is she bringing a new mystery to Peacock every week, she’s bringing guest stars galore. Natasha Lyonne stars as the human lie detector—Charlie’s superpower of sorts is that she can tell when anyone is lying, though she will adjust her usual comeback of “Bullshit!” if the fibber is a little kid, as this new season two trailer demonstrates.
Season one of Poker Face was no slouch in the guest-star department—Judith Light even picked up an Emmy for her memorable one-off performance—but season two has somehow raised the bar. Seems everyone wants to work with series creator Rian Johnson, and since there’s a lot more room in a 12-episode TV series than there is in one of his Knives Out movies (though, granted, those casts are also huge), Poker Face is happy to oblige.
Along with Lyonne, the Plymouth Barracuda, and some cheeky-looking animal characters, season two features Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney, Kumail Nanjiani, Rhea Perlman, Katie Holmes, John Cho, Alia Shawkat, Justin Theroux, Simon Helberg, Taylor Schilling, Melanie Lynskey, Patti Harrison, Awkwafina, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, David Alan Grier, Sam Richardson, Simon Rex, Carol Kane, Richard Kind, Haley Joel Osment, Adrienne C.
